Your problems don't magically stop just because someone else has it worse and unless you work in French forensics or security, ignoring your problems doesn't help anyone in France right now. Physical pain is mentally taxing and you have a right to your feelings over this issue. You have every right to find practical solutions to your health/car situation and to seek some kind of closure or peace.
