11. Normally, I would say it was a coincidence too but I was watching ST:TNG the other day and it turns out there's a character with name of "Vash". No, it wasn't a gunslinger with a weakness for donuts. It was a woman who had a thing for Picard. But still, Vash is not a common name at all.

So, we have the name Vash, then the Picard look-alike, then good and evil non-human man made brothers who mimic the Star Trek good and evil non-human man made brothers.

It's too much.

While that is true, and I posted later in this thread concurring with the whole Data and Lore idea, I always held that the name "Vash" in the case of Trigun's main character was a pun/derivative of "vache" - the French word for "cow."
