Re: Fix a TV show in just one way
(Anonymous) 2015-11-14 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)Why? Because in the end, it was a pointless move. Willow's character arc as established at the beginning of Season 6, more about becoming ruthless and obsessive about protecting her friends than about the "magic is drugs" bullshit (which could easily have been framed as a minor issue masking the real problem at the end of the season), didn't need Tara to die, it only needed a serious enough threat or extreme enough mind-fucking in order to go full-tilt Dark Willow. Tara's death wound up as just a cheap shock death that didn't really change the tone of the show or the characters' assumptions about the world the way earlier deaths like Jenny's or Kendra's did.
