Honestly, the end of season one made it seem like the show was headed that way. (I guess you could take the line about Peter 'stealing Roman's heart' as a 'close, friendly bond that Roman needed in his life at the time', but that's kind of laughable to me given...everything.)

After that threesome in S2 (that one of the actors described as being all about the guys connecting again) I thought they were going to be a poly couple. Or even that Miranda might leave, but at the very least Peter and Roman would stay together. (I figured with Roman being Roman that they might have an open relationship, but come on show...they clearly love each other. It would've made perfect sense for them to go that route.)
