This. I highly doubt there will ever be a LJ revival anytime soon (though the only community active there is ONTD). Also, nobody gave DW a chance and just hopped aboard the Tumblr train.

I hope ello will be the next best thing, as I'm currently using that. It hasn't had a following yet, but here's hoping it'll at least gain popularity.

However, I'm just having a gloom and doom prediction about a possible revival.

I honestly don't think there's going to be any true internet revival anytime soon. I think a lot of people are going to do what I've started doing, and look for RL communities. One of the great things about LJ/fandom way back was that it was this safe space (... the occasional wank shitstorm aside), and the internet is just not a safe space anymore.
