Vikings is one of the few shows that regularly time-skips years ahead while giving you very little information on what happened in the space between. I don't have a problem with time-skips in itself...sometimes they work, but you have to be careful about them or you risk alienating your audience; if you're always dropping plot-lines people are going to be frustrated. It starts to feel like you don't care about your own characters when you don't touch on subjects that could provide a lot of growth and character development. Just...allow us to further understand the characters, Vikings.

You know, in that last scene they had together when Ragnar told Athelstan he loved him, Athelstan seemed a bit shocked. Now obviously by that point Athelstan knew; Ragnar wasn't in the least bit subtle with his feelings, and he approached Athelstan about sex several times, and had several conversations that very much hinted at romantic feelings, but I think that Athelstan was just surprised to hear it in those exact words; Ragnar had made his love known before, but he had never said it so outright. I def think there were more moments like that we didn't see, because it appeared to be a regular thing with them; Ragnar approaches Athelstan, Athelstan shies away, lol.

I was so very disappointed in Siggy's death! IA, she should've had more screentime since it was her final season, but also just because she was a really good character with a great actress. I thought her death seemed REALLY abrupt; they should've given it a bit more lead-in.

Yay anon, I'm glad you're still around! (And to find someone who likes both LOTS and Vikings. There aren't many of us here on f!s, as far as I know.)
