I mean, it is basically a comedic James Bond. And James Bond movies seem to have a good fandom with the new Daniel Craig and that skinny white kid that plays Q.

Yes, but James Bond is a pop culture icon that has some 50 years worth of movies (+books and comics) and his fandom won't migrate to another spy fandom any more than Superman fans would migrate to Miss Marvel.

Of the 4k James Bond fics on AO3, over half are from Skyfall. And another 1000~ from Craig bond. So it isn't like the long fandom is effecting it.

Sometime like Inception was new. But it had two hot white guys plus a bit of angst.

What comedies have huge fandoms? Is there even one that's not a TV show?
