Maybe they're letting him grow up into an adult big bad, or they're saving the whole antichrist thing for the eventual endgame, or they had something more in mind for it that fell by the wayside as the creative team changed. Six years isn't that long when they've brought people back from episode 2 (to kill them lol). You never know!

How old was the kid? Because they could indeed bring him back as a teenager, and if he's evil/a shit (or just battling with evil, so the audience has feelings), it would be easier to off him, as now he has a choice/understands right from wrong.

He was around ten or so, so he'd be a teenager now at least, with six years plus time skips. I think if God shows up, he should definitely be played by Shatner. lol
