Greg from Steven Universe is usually presented as a loser, but he's Steven's most reliable source of positive emotional reinforcement after Pearl (who's disqualified from this topic for confusing Steven with his dead mother who she wanted to bang.) You could argue that he's a better parent than any of the people who're actually raising Steven.

Then again, that might just be because he's not central enough to get a lot of "Hey, everyone, this character has flaws!" episodes. I think his only episode like that was the one where he broke his leg, and the writers really exaggerated his more annoying and oblivious qualities in that one.

I love that he works together with the Gems to raise Steven and they all collaborate without a lot of (apparent) drama.

There are definitely some rough edges there, especially after Rose's death. As Greg put it, "You guys don't give up on anything, except for me."
