+1 to the stepfather. I was totally expecting him to be a stereotypical jerk Scott would have to win his ex-wife back from, but he turned out to be a decent guy who was doing a good job with his new family who happens to have justifiable friction with the ex-husband.

It made me so happy to see them all eating together at the end. Like, you almost never see that in movies.
