THANK YOU! SOMEONE ELSE WHO SEES IT!

He's like the best daddy to Miru and Kaku. Especially when compared to what parents we've gotten anything about other than Ryouta's mom and the human girl's parents. More active in their lives than Ryouta's father had been in Ryouta's life, not a jealous and selfish git like Sakuya's step-father who would have an egg smashed just because he wanted his own. Despite him being this creeper who can and has killed students while studying them...he's a great daddy.

It's one of his few actual redeeming qualities. But then, I don't doubt it comes from his experiences with his own parents and knowing what absent parents can do to you.

Also, as an addendum: you have to be someone special to Shuu for him to put up with decorating his infirmary and putting a Christmas hat on him.
