Fandom names

Do you know people have have unusual (fandom-y) names in real life, either called after the fandom or just happened to be called that. Do you know any Leia's, Jadzia's, or something along those lines?

I have a distant cousin called Romana, so that could be Doctor Who-ish.

Is that a real fandom name from something specific? More than one person has called my cat Astra before and I never knew why. (Her name is Astrid, which isn't common where I live but is at least a real name, while I've never heard Astra anywhere.)

I have a friend of a friend on facebook who just gave birth to an Elsa. I am curious to see if she's going to follow this with an Anna.

I know a Primrose but she's my age, so coincidence.

I know someone whose middle name (one of several) is Tinuviel. I think she'd be about 13-14 now.

My niece is Cordelia, which is a real name, if an uncommon one and not an immediately obvious reference. It's equally for Cordelia Naismith and Anne "Would you call me Cordelia?" Shirley.

I used to know a Leia, and a Nyssa (Classic Who companion).

One of my elementary school teachers had a baby whose middle name was Calvin, and she had all the Calvin and Hobbes books in her classroom so I was pretty sure she'd chosen the name because of that.

I'm a teacher, and I've had an Arwen in my class.

And then I had a father of a kid in my class whose name was Michael Myers. I bet he was thrilled when the movie Halloween came out! (Obviously his name predated that, but still, poor guy.)

I know a Tiana. She's much older than the Disney movie, but her name is still fandom-y... she said her mom got it from a minor character on an old soap opera.

A guy I know named his kid Ganon. Like, from Zelda. I don't even know.

Don't exactly know them, but I was looking through some records and found a kid named 'Anakin'. Fortunately, it was his middle name.

Also knew a girl named 'Leia'

I keep running into Star Wars kids.

I met a woman at an anime convention several years ago who had her kid (a toddler) with her. The kid's name, I swear to god, was Sephiroth.

I don't know any...but I'm not gonna lie, I am severely tempted if I ever have a daughter to name her Shayera (possibly spelled Shiera?) ....after Hawkgirl. It is entirely, 100%, the Justice League cartoon's fault.

Eowyn Galadriel Rose. She went to our summer camp back when me and my bff were in high school. She was very good friends with us, but we haven't see her in years. :C

Her family were huge LotR nerds and, fortunately, so was she.

One of my friends named her baby Clara after the Impossible Girl. I know a Riza (like Riza Hawkeye). I don't know if there's a fandom for it, but I have a coworker who's naming her baby Calpurnia after the MC in The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate.

I have met someone who named her daughter Tegan, and I think it was after Tegan Jovanka on Doctor Who.

And an acquaintance has a son named Daken. He's probably about...six now? Actually after "Dark Wolverine." (shudder)

There's a woman named Éowyn on a message board I am on.

The same message board has a guy who named his daughter Éowyn, a woman who named her daughter Arwen, and a woman who named her daughter Elanor (I know that one's a regular name, but she said it was after the character).

No, it's not a LoTR board.

I know a guy whose older son is named Luke, and I always want to ask if it's so he can say "Luke, I am your father." But that's another regular name, so it's probably not.

Waaaaaay back in the day a guy in my home town was named Lex Luther and my brother and his little shit friends would crank call him every once in awhile and say they were Superman and were coming to kick his ass.
