All I can think of is BBC Merlin modern AUs where the Pendragons are the royal family of Britain, lol. To be fair though, Merlin had some nice long modern AUs where Arthur is prince:

Ah man, this is the exact one I was going to rec! Had the link ready and everything, lol.

I love that one. I've read quite a few good royal!AU's over the years (sadly no others that I can link to atm) but this is top three for sure. Excellent writing, likable characters, and so engaging. I had several “my chest actually hurts from how painful and emotional this is” moments. (It isn't all angst all the time either, but the writing is that good.)
