Where are you publishing fic? Do you still get favorites/kudos? And how many hits are you getting?

Something to keep in mind is that the current trend is for people not to comment most of the time. It's not really a reflection on you; it's just less common for people to show their appreciation that way. Also, if you're not getting a lot of hits, it may have less to do with the quality of your work and more to do with publishing at the wrong time, dealing with material that's less popular, or even just not marketing the fic well enough (my hits and kudos went way up when I finally went ahead and posted links to my fics on tumblr).

Apart from that, remember the nature of the internet. If there's someone out there who hates you and gets annoyed by you, they're going to tell you. If no one has so far, then odds are you're doing just fine.

The best way to deal with the feeling that you might not be good, though, is to focus on constantly improving. How can you better make that sentence pop? How can you better describe that scene? How can you better convey that emotion? Strive to create content that you feel reflects your best, that you can feel good about regardless of reception. And then try to top it.

AO3 + my tumblr.

I think you might be right, because now I've started comparing my fic with other stories being posted around the same time and other people seem to be getting about the same number of comments as I do, sometimes less. Huh. Getting some perspective.

100% agreeing about constantly improving tho.
