The last people who owned her took all their stuff when they moved and up and left her there alone, so I think she gets a little freaked out that we might do the same to her, the poor thing :(.

Gods, ugh! It's awful when people do things like that. We had an upstairs neighbor do the same thing to their cat, and it broke my heart that we couldn't take her in (we already had one more than our lease allowed). We teamed up with the across-the-way neighbor to take care of her in the alcove under the stairs until we could find a place for her.

Glad your cat has you now. :)
