I've fallen in love with both Parks and Recreation and The Vicar of Dibley. I think I like the "quirky small town" genre in general, and would love more of it. Books are best, but other shows/movies are good too.

(I will say I like the character development in Parks and Rec, and missed there being more of that in Dibley. Also, I'd like more relationships between female characters.)

You might like the Thrush Green series. It's about a small English town and the characters who live there. My mom likes them a lot.

Oh, and the Number One Ladies Detective Agency. It's a series about a woman in a town in Botswana who start her own detective agency and it's adorable.

Maybe for the quirky small town, you might like the teen drama "Everwood" set in a small Colorado town. I love the show and it's only four seasons. Drama filled, of course, but it stars a young Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp, so the acting's pretty good.

AYRT - Hm, maybe. Not so big on teen dramas though.
