I have so many deadlines and it's only terrible because of the holidays. I spent half of the summer bored out of my mind and now they want everything RIGHT NOW.

That's sometimes how the work day feels to me! Hours of sitting on my ass and then suddenly ALL THE WORK AT ONCE. Wednesday was great because I was bored for the last two hours of my scheduled shift, and then I had a case come in ten minutes before I was supposed to leave that caused me to have to stay an extra 45 minutes past my scheduled end time. :|

I'm fortunate enough right now that I still manage my time well enough (and keep on top of the urgent deadlines) that I usually don't have to stay late and I'll just convince my boss that I should come in early instead the next morning.

Or if I have to stay late, then I'll just leave early the next day.

I'd give a lot for a little bit of boredom right at the moment. I feel that dumb feel though.

One day, fine, I can handle that boredom. But I have justify what I do all day, so by about day 5 of trying to find stuff to do, it gets really bad.

I wish. I still can't sit on it all day so I basically play mindless games on the phone, email long messages to relatives, and check twitter.

Again, this is not every day, just those weeks where I have to wait for someone else to finish up their project.
