On fiscal issues, yes. On social issues, not necessarily. So "politically conservative" doesn't accurately describe them.

They're part of the conservative part of American politics. Even if they like weed and sodomy. For all practical purposes - when you look at who they support and how they talk and what policies they support - they're conservatives. Republican who likes weed, still a fucking Republican.

I don't entirely disagree though IME Libertarians can be a diverse bunch when it comes to just how liberal they are on social issues. But since they don't fit perfectly in the "politically conservative" slot, I think it's fair to give them a separate mention for the sake of clarity.
