I know more than a couple of gay and lesbian people who would probably jump at a "cure" for being gay, and would be more than happy to adopt mainstream sexuality if it really was a choice. They've told me as much. It would make their lives far easier and safer, but because currently it is not a choice they feel "stuck" with being gay. Some of them are in long term committed homosexual relationships too. On the flipside, I have one female friend who keeps on saying how she'd much rather be in love with other women than guys, so I'm sure there are heterosexuals who'd take a "het-cure" too.
