Jennifer Lawrence, known for her wicked sense of humour, has effortlessly outflanked star web pranksters Smosh by storming out of an awkward interview set up to make her feel uneasy.

The Smosh duo, comprising Ian Hecox in the interviewer's chair and Anthony Padilla off-camera (and firing awkward suggestions to his offsider), tried to make Lawrence feel uncomfortable during a Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 interview.

But Lawrence was ready for them, and played along with her own team off-camera, led by a young fan with muscular dystrophy, Dylan Miceli-Nelson. Lawrence's Hunger Games co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson helped out Miceli-Nelson by talking her through smart-ass responses via an earpiece.

Things got off to an awkward start when Hecox joked he was standing in to do the interview "as tribute" (in reference to Katniss Everden volunteering as tribute in the first Hunger Games). Lawrence responded by asking where the joke came from, before grouching at him "no, it was from MY movie".

Hecox buried his head in his hands before trying out a joke: "California must be a really big fan of the Hunger Games. Because it's always catching fire." Lawrence shifted uneasily in her seat, shooting back: "My friend lost a house in one of the California fires ... they lost a dog."

Hecox pleaded "don't make this depressing" to which she replied: "you should be careful, you never know."

Things went from bad to worse when Hecox took his shoes off and hinted Lawrence should do the same. She coldly refused.

The actress then fired a toy plastic crossbow bolt hitting Hecox in the face, before the interviewer fell flat with another lame gag (equating Katniss's friend Peter with pide bread). "We're so full of funny jokes," an annoyed Hecox said, throwing the pide to the floor.

Hecox then asked Lawrence to co-star in a fake movie scene, which ended abruptly before Lawrence upped the ante accusing Hecox of unprofessionalism.

Liam Hemsworth, Dylan Miceli-Nelson and Josh Hutcherson with Jennifer Lawrence after their prank on Smosh during an interview for The Hunger Games:

"Do you not feel like in a professional situation you should stay fully clothed out of respect for who you are interviewing?"

"I just feel like I have to do these interviews all day, in heels. I don't know why the shoe thing got to me, I'm like this motherf---er thinks he can come in and take off his f---ing shoes? I've been in heels for 12 hours.

"I'm being serious abut the lack of respect. I just feel like this is a waste of time," she said, before pulling her ear-piece out and walking. "I feel like you're not really a professional. I'm sorry I'm done."

Hutcherson and Hemsworth then entered the set to stand over Padilla and Hecox. "What happened bro?" Hemsworth says. "It wasn't funny man," Hutcherson added.

"I just think it's pretty disrespectful dude," the imposing Hemsworth said, before Lawrence comes out with Miceli-Nelson to reveal the prank.

"I couldn't wait for it to be over ... I didn't like being mean," Lawrence confessed.

Is it wrong to say we enjoyed the meaner side of Lawrence, just a little?

For the lady who keeps pretending that she's oh so brave for not being thin enough for Hollywood standards, not wearing heels for interviews (where nobody is filming your shoes anyway) should be an easy thing. So she has nobody to blame for the heels other than herself. I also don't think shooting someone in the face with plastic parts is a great thing to do.

Dude, missing the point. That comment was part of the prank.
