There are better Ewan McGregor movies, though none with that beard.

This!

Ewan MacGregor was one of the reasons I watched the prequels. Not the only reason... but a significant one!

I like the prequels, but I understand the Obi-Wan feels. I like the character in general in both trilogies, but he is very gorgeous in the prequels.

I watched them all pretty recently, and Ewan's Obi-Wan does leave an impression. ;)

Yeah I pretty much loved the prequels because of Obi-wan. (Padme was pretty cool in my book too.) He had a great sense of humor in them and good charisma. Ewan Mcgregor carried those movies. Didn't hurt that he was good looking.

Well, he IS easy on the eyes.

Even if you ARE in it for the hotness, you're not wrong about him having the more compelling storyline in the prequels. In 4-6 he's less a character and more a mentor. We don't see much of his internal struggles; it's Luke and Leia's turn.
In the prequels he gets his own storylines and development.

I'm with you OP. Obi-Wan made those movies for me (though not gonna lie, Padme was also up there. And her wardrobe.)

One of my favourite scenes is the one where he tells Padme how Anakin has gone off the deep end and the lines are so awkwardly written that it seems like he is about to crack up and break character. It's hilarious.

But I agree. I also really liked Liam Neeson and him together! I basically watched the other two movies only for his character (any generally him as an actor).
elaminator: (Star Wars: TFA - Rey)

I thought they were fun films. Flawed, but fun. I mean to watch them again before TFA but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Ewan McGregor made a gorgeous Obi-Wan though; I see no reason to be ashamed of that train of thought. He was charming. (And frankly, I feel the same about Liam Neeson.)
nightscale: Starbolt (Star Trek: Uhura)

One of the things I liked about the prequels was Oni-Wan tbh, he got more fleshed out and it was interesting to see how his life went before movies 4-6. Nothing wrong with liking a character just for looks though, you still appreciate them after all.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Totally with you on this. I love Obi-Wan, especially looking like that. I like a lot of the Jedi, and Jedi vs Sith stuff.

I'm hoping that the rumors are true and that there will be new SW movies focusing on Obi-Wan.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Young Obi-Wan is way more interesting than old Obi-Wan, who doesn't get to do much more beyond being the mentor. And the prequels have Qui-Gon, so there's that.

/Qui-Gon fan

You and me both, OP.
