Maybe because you don't think they've done something of note doesn't mean they haven't done anything of note.

Also people write memoirs which are basically the same thing all the time.

Well okay, I'll give it a go... *crackles knuckles*

Today, I got up and never changed out of my pajamas. I ate leftover pizza for lunch, then went outside and stared at the sky for a bit and then came back inside and had a bowl of cereal. In a few more hours I'll go back to bed and probably do the same thing tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm sitting here, wishing I had some cake but there is no cake in the house.

If any literary agents are reading, leave a comment with your contact info!

Oh yes. Clearly people who aren't famous for something or in the news must have done nothing of importance.

DA. What would you consider "something of importance"?

Positively affecting someone else's life. Conquering something difficult in your life and making it out okay/ recovery.

Maybe things like that aren't what makes the news but they can still be interesting and meaningful.

Uh, it was a joke making fun of myself for having no life. People can write whatever they want.

da

But that's not what you do every single day of your entire life.

YOU DON'T KNOW ME!

Okay, sometimes I put on pants, but only because I need to go to the store.

Okay, but not everyone who isn't famous has a *boring* life.

My granddad (who I sadly never knew) fought in a war, then designed bridges in Asia and then remarried and moved to South America - regardless of blood ties, I'd read the shit out of that.

There's people who were journalists, or worked for doctors without borders, or who were part of civil rights movements, etc etc. who were not famous but had wildly interesting lives.

Okay, but the original comment the ayrt was replying to said "... someone who's not famous or who probably hasn't done anything of note..." (emphasis mine)

Like you're absolutely right, but your examples fall into this category, therefore the original comment wasn't about people like your granddad, etc.
