Pretend you win the lottery. Not millions, but enough of a jackpot that it will pay you enough every month to live on comfortably so that you never have to worry about money again. Even if you can't splurge on luxuries or overseas vacations.

What would you do if you had all the free time you wanted?

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Write more. Read more. Maybe buy a beat-up old car and try to restore it (I've always wanted to do that).

+1 to everything here

Nothing. D: I'd just relax.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
What I do already, never leave the house and cry a lot.

Only it's not on my parent's dollar.

I'd mostly just relax and do nothing, might go the cinema a little more often though.

I wouldn't use it like that, though. I'd use it to pay off my student loans.

But, if I had to spend it that way, I'd still do what I want to do with my life. My career goal isn't exactly high paying (some attorney jobs pay well, immigration ones, particularly legal services where I want to eventually work, do not). The point is that I want to help people. So I'd probably volunteer my time if I didn't have any money issues I'd have to worry about.

Travel. Visit national parks. Go out to the movies. Go out to eat. Take classes. Learn more about topics that interest me.

Yes

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'd probably still go to work 'cause I don't mind it too much and I need to get out of the house anyway. I'd donate some of my work check to charity and put the rest towards traveling.

More dogs and more camping.

[personal profile] solticisekf 2015-11-24 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I have all the free time I want right now and can't say I do anything productive.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'd find an NGO or charity I believe in and volunteer more. I'd also really like to pick up a new skill, or brush up on my old ones (languages, crafting, etc.)

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'm assuming 'never have to worry about money again means I no longer need a job.' So I'd read and travel. I'd buy a mini camper and just take off across the U.S. Meandering, with no destination and no schedule.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, other than pay off my student loan debt?

I'd be buying/playing a few more games that I've been wanting a long time. And a hell of a lot more art supplies. Maybe some sketchbooks, a Copic marker set, and some pens? Maybe a colored pencil set?

Plus I'd be getting the foods I like that I can eat instead of having to depend on the "kindness" of my family while praying they'll actually cook something that's not fried so I can actually have something to eat since they won't get much in the way of "simple to cook" when I know I won't get much time or space to make my own food while fighting with these arseknobs.

Dedicate myself to the things I love like art, agriculture or reading. And paying off my debts, of course. I'd also like to travel around with my family and my dog hah.

I think I'd keep my job and keep trying for promotion so I could splurge on luxuries and overseas vacations. It would be great to have enough money to not need to work, and I would definitely do a lot more sewing, crafting, reading, gardening, and cooking if I had more free time, but one of the things I want a better paying job for is to afford trips abroad more frequently than once or twice a decade. And more theatre. And expensive crafting supplies; I'd love a long-arm quilting machine to embroider fabric yardage with, and a large scale screen-printing setup. Not to mention gardening, since even just the cost of water is putting a serious dent in my garden, nevermind new plants.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
vidya indefinitely

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
I'd feel happy and relaxed and safe for the first time in nearly a decade. And then I'd start saving money or trying to earn more money so that I could afford some luxuries and overseas vacations.

Move into a house where I could have pets, then get a couple of cats. Mum would probably also get a dog.

I'd also save up for overseas trips. I'm not talking about being able to go off straight away, but tucking money away regularly so I can go in a year or two, just like Mum and I did for NZ.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
I would stick with renting a cheap place to live and taking transit rather than driving, and I would save the extra money from that and put it towards vacationing in all the places I've ever wanted to visit.

I would also pay for all sorts of cool classes, some of them educational and some of them for physical skills. Just all kinds of classes really. I'd take tennis lessons and history lessons and math lessons and carpentry lessons, and I'd learn how to stunt drive and...whatever I wanted. If I could afford it, I'd take as many one-on-one classes as possible, but I'd also do group classes when I had to.

Aaand I have to admit, I'd also spend a pretty penny on skin treatments to stay looking my best. By which I mean laser treatments and peels and botox and the like. I know a lot of people consider that kind of thing shallow, but honestly? When I got to fifty and looked like a well-preserved 38 year old, those people could ask me how many fucks I gave.

(Anonymous) 2015-11-24 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Buy a small patch of land, throw up a yurt and plant trees. I'd splurge on getting a septic tank and some running water, because ain't nobody got time for that. Electricity would come from either a small turbine or some solar panels, maybe a car battery as back up, just for internet and emergency purposes. I'd have a potbelly stove for heating. I could live like that.
