Happy Thanksgiving/Thursday

To all my fellow Americans (and anyone else who decided to celebrate), how was your Thanksgiving? And to everyone else, how was your Thursday?

I love Thanksgiving food so much. We didn't do anything other than the food this year. It was just me and the parents. But turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes are some of my favorite things in this life. And then we had peach pie for dessert.

And then the best part is my mom starting to make soup stock out of the turkey bones. The whole house smells like turkey soup.

I love Thanksgiving food and Thanksgiving leftovers.

ooooh fresh turkey stock is the best, especially if you can find fresh herbs

It is. My mother makes the best turkey noodle soup. She'll also make turkey divine. It is going to be a nice couple of weeks.

Thanksgiving leftovers rock. Despite how full I am right now I'm looking forward to bringing in a turkey sandwich for lunch tomorrow!

It was boring and awkward and I have to do it all again in a month and I wish I could make different plans for once. It's not like I don't have other family groups.

But having the days off from work is pretty great.

Well, I went to see The Good Dinosaur today (and cried a lot) and will probably go see Creed tomorrow.

Hearing all my American friends talk about thanksgiving is making me crave a turkey, cranberry sauce and mature cheddar wrap so badly.

Good! Family came over, lots of good food. The only bad part was trying to coordinate two groups of older people on Skype. For some reason they think you need to yell at the screen or the other people won't hear you.

OH! And I made homemade biscuits for the first time ever and they were perfect. :D

However, a cold, wet front just came through. And we will probably have an ice storm this weekend. :

My thanksgiving has been wonderful! We just had dinner but are digesting a little before dessert.

I did spend quite a bit of time reading some political articles that made me sad/a bit frightened. I guess it makes me even more thankful for the good things in life today. I don't want to live with my head in the sand, but I want to try to still be positive and live positively.

Thanksgiving was okay. Had my dinner alone (a kinda-sorta Thanksgiving with pulled pork barbecue, Canadian ham, green beans, roasted vegetable medley, a failed butternut squash soup, and a sweet potato) but did get a brief visit from a family member.

(I opted out of the "family" dinner this year because I've cut off contact with the narcissist that usually hosts it, and I'm just fine with that)

Oh my god I hate food. Why is there all this food? Urgh...

Nothing out of the ordinary today, but since many of our shops have decided to copy the concept of Black Friday from you Americans, tomorrow will be a shopping day.

My girlfriend and I are sitting around all day watching whatever we feel like, cooking when the urge takes us, eating when we get peckish, and drinking as much as we want.

We're calling it Zero Fucksgiving.

Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic as always. And I got to gloat and preen about making the lasagna by myself this year - granted it's not the first time I've done it, but the first time for Thanksgiving, plus I'm a ham. xB

Waiting for the pies to cool off so I can consume an orgy of pumpkin, mixed berry, and pecan pie. Mmm

I ate a salad. It was a pretty good salad.

It was great. I stayed under calories, took a nap on the sofa and hung with my pops. A good time was had by me, at least.

Shitty. My husband has contact dermatitis and is being a giant fucking pissbaby about it, stomping around angry and snapping at me and acting like he's lost an arm and a leg or some shit instead of just having a goddamn rash. We went to my mother in laws for dinner and the food was shit. And tomorrow I get to cook all fucking day for us. And then Saturday I get to put the fucking Christmas tree up because hubs is going to a football game Sunday, without me. Fuck today in the ass with a rusty chainsaw.

Follow up from my post yesterday: Dad did really good making dinner! The turkey was better than any of the turkeys we've ever had going to relatives houses for thanks giving. Mom's foot is getting better too!

The food was good (we bought most of it from a local deli) and we have a good many leftovers so it'll sustain us for a few days, but other than that...it was boring. I did my usual work out, had to clean and do some household chores, but I also started my period so all morning through the working out and the cleaning and the chores I was in terrible pain, then after lunch I tried to take a nap but I am SHIT at taking naps whilst dressed. I wasn't going to get undressed though (because my brother and his fam were supposed to come over), so I just kind of wasted two hours by drifting off and waking up repeatedly and worrying about messing up my hair, lol.

Would've loved to play KOTOR or watch Star Wars with the fam, but everyone was watching football instead. (Ugh, football.)

So it could've been worse, but it really just felt like any other day. At least the food was good.

Hope everyone else had a fantastic day!

Yesterday (Thurday here) was not bad. I slept through most of it the flaked out around 4 AM this morning when I had originally been planning to get ready and leave early today. Them's the breaks.

Today has been the usual busy Friday - grocery shopping, then straight back out to go to the tea shop and pick up a couple of games I had on laybuy. Thing is, to do that I had to go to two different shopping centres, which is a little on the tiring side.

The games, BTW, are Icewind Dale EE and Baldur's Gate 2 EE. I will be heartily glad to be able to play both games again.
