I ship it too, OP. I'm absolutely against it in the comics, but the changes to Kilgrave plus David's phenomenal acting actually made me ship it. I don't think that Kilgrave is capable of feeling actual love, but whatever he feels for Jessica is as close to it as he's capable of getting.

That said, the only fics I could read for it (and I do want fic!) is if it were a Stockholm Syndrome sort of situation (like Jessica staying with Kilgrave at the end of episode 8 to make him do good acts and he eventually wears her down because even without his powers he's a manipulative fuck) or Jessica going darkside, though the only way I see that happening is if something happened to Trish.

A role reversal sounds also good, but I'm not sure how that would work, as Kilgrave will always have the upper hand as long as he can control other people.

I feel really weird for saying this since I've certainly shipped unhealthy, abusive ships in the past, but I just can't do this one. This is where I draw the line, I guess. I'm not going to say you're a horrible person for shipping it, but this ship skeeves me out more than just about anything else in the universe. (I chalk it up to David being a phenomenal Kilgrave; seriously, being out-of-this-world good, by being the most repulsive character I can recall. I don't think he's charming, or sympathetic, or that they have chemistry, I just find him to be evil through and through.)

My friend told me I would love their relationship because I usually ship unhealthy pairings (Snape/Harry, Hannibal/Will, etc.) but I'm really uncomfortable with the idea of shipping them. I can't even find David Tennant attractive! I mean, Hannibal might have been abusive but at least he wasn't a rapist.

Now that I think about it, they remind me of Ramsay/Theon (GoT) because I should theoretically like them but I'm actually disgusted by the ship.

(That doesn't mean that I judge people who ship them. I'm pretty "live and let live" in general.)

Yea, certainly I'm no stranger to fucked up pairings, but I think the rape (and the mind-control) is the deal-breaker. I'm not sure if I could ship them even if he hadn't raped her, but Kilgrave is just so vile that when I see his face I want to punch it. Over and over again. The only thing I ship Kilgrave with is death.

Hannibal is a monster, but I couldn't imagine him ever raping someone. And I think Hannibal would find mind-control completely boring; if he's going to influence someone, he wants it to be subtle. If it's a guarantee then it isn't interesting; one of the things he liked about Will was that he didn't always react in the way Hannibal thought he would. He kind of likes when things don't go according to plan; life is more fun when it's chaotic. (Plus...I think he would consider it, ah...rude. Hahaha.)

I haven't watched GoT but I've heard enough about that ship from f!s to suspect I wouldn't want anything to do with it either. (And same. I'll sit in my corner and let you do your thing.)

I think I feel the same way. And I'm not sure why. I went in expecting to ship it in a noncon sense. I ship pairings that are entirely made of rape (Celebrimbor/Sauron is at least dubcon and often very noncon), and I a lot of what I read is noncon stuff. But this one skeeves me in a way I don't entirely understand.

Could it be David's performance? If you like non-con then I would expect you to ship it too.

I think all the straight up non-con fic I've read has been non-canon. For the most part I don't go looking for it and oftentimes I'll skip it completely, but I guess for me even the extremely fucked up pairings, I need to like something about the characters. I need to find something about them fascinating or intriguing or oddly likable, and Kilgrave doesn't do that for me. He's a very simple villain imo, he just wants what he wants and is willing to do anything to get it. He doesn't care about the people he hurts, he won't accept responsibility and feels no remorse. (Isn't interested in world domination, is just interested in making his own existence as 'pleasant' as possible.)

He can't handle rejection and as far as I'm concerned he doesn't have one good quality. I can't ship a character that I hate that much, not even in a messed up way. (Don't get me wrong, he's an excellent villain in that David was absolutely terrifying and totally repugnant; he's worse than anything else I could imagine, but I don't 'like' him.)

It may be that none of the fics so far have hit what I like about non-con fics? I'm really into sacrifice: heroes keeping information from villains or sacrificing themselves for others. And I'm into larger than life villains who are into world domination.

I like Kilgrave as a character a lot, but he's not really the type of villain I find shippable even in the non-con sense? I mean, he's only about his personal desires, not about anything grander than that.

And I think Jessica Kilgrave doesn't do it for me precisely because it only happens because of his powers. She isn't choosing to give in for the good of others. She isn't resisting him enough to keep things from him because the very nature of his powers mean she can't.

I think I'd like it in a fic where she went back to him to keep him from hurting anyone else. But other than that, this ship doesn't really hit my non-con buttons I don't think. Maybe?

I imagine someone will be writing that sooner or later. (If they haven't already.) I've seen some interest in that sort of plot-line.

I was so glad the show didn't go there, though. When Jessica went to 'live' with him in her old house, I was deeply distressed and afraid the show was going the, 'Jessica stays with him and tries to make him a hero/teach him to be good' route. That was okay for one or two scenes, but if things had kept on in that direction I would've dropped the show.
