Dragon Ball (the non-Z one) rewatch?

Should I rewatch it? I generally have a very good track record of still loving stuff that I liked when I was a kid, then rewatched as an adult. The whole "oh it doesn't hold up anymore" thing doesn't happen to me much.

But those were mostly action-y shows and books and movies - I still love them even though (or precisely because) they seem way more absurd than they did the first time around. I still love Dragon Ball Z this way. But I remember that Dragon Ball was a lot more comedy-oriented than Dragon Ball Z, and I'm wondering if maybe comedy I liked when I was a kid won't hold up as well as action/adventure I liked when I was a kid.

What are your guys' opinions?

I've always preferred Dragon Ball to DBZ and that has held true for me even on rewatches. I would give it a go; if you find you don't care for the first few episodes you watched you can always stop.

Dragon Ball held up waaaaaay better for me upon rewatch than DBZ did. The characters are so much more entertaining

Go ahead, anon. Personally I prefer Super's humor, but...yeah, watch a few episodes, skip to a character/fight/saga you really like, whatever. I forgot if there was a ton of filler, but some was cool (the Colonel Silver stuff) and the adventure angle is definitely lost in Z.

Imo Dragon Ball still holds up pretty well even now, so I'd say to give it a go.
