A long time ago I watched it but it's been probably a decade since I have. My mother didn't like it, I enjoyed it. Though right now I can only remember the episode when Pantera visited.

You're making it sound as though it's some obscure show. Is it not well-known in the US? (Or wherever you're from, anon.)

I liked it and still find it funny, but can only watch it in small doses. I don't like it when the humor depends on one already down on his luck character being the butt of the joke, even if it's a subversion of common sitcom tropes. My favorite episode is the one where Kelly goes on some game show (Jeopardy, I think?) and almost wins everything.

Do people not know this show anymore? Man, I'm old. I watched it all the time when I was a kid and I watch it every morning now because it's what's on when I'm getting ready to go to work. I loved the episode where Anthrax visits and the one where Peg wants to be reunion queen. Oh, and the one where Peg finds out that her bra's been discontinued and Al goes to a fancy lingerie store to buy a bunch for her.

LONG time ago. I'm 26, and iirc it was still pretty old reruns that played when I occasionally watched it. I always thought it was funny, but now the man guy just makes me think of Modern Family, so yeah.

It was funny, but also very much a product of its time. I suppose if you keep in mind that while Al's the main figure, it's clear that he's not supposed to be an entirely likeable or nice person and behaves accordingly. So expect oodles of fat jokes, toilet jokes, and fairly low brow humor.

Christina Applegate looked amazing, though.
