Not certainly if their comment can (and actually more probably) be interpreted as glib. You don't need to make that distinction; the different possibilities of interpretation are inherent in the comment.

To presume one interpretation definitively, and then to extrapolate that very specific thought processes that are in no way referenced in the comment are 100% obviously the reasoning behind it, is a convoluted act of overthinking.
