I don't think the whole thing needed to be frozen! It's possible to talk about it in a reasonable, non-racist way - it's not a fundamentally racist thing. It's just a few of the subthreads were being odiously racist.

I thought the whole thing would be better off frozen, none of those subthreads were going in a positive direction.

I saw one response (I think) that actually addressed the question without using it as a launchpad for race-based jokes, but that was getting no responses.
