No. Incidentally, I still have a flip phone. Should I upgrade?

My experience has been that they just don't make good flip phones anymore. Pretty much all the work of making good phones is going to smartphones now, and all the services and advancements are on that side of things. At this point smartphones are just so much better, it doesn't really make sense to do anything else if you have the option.

My flip-phone still works though, battery isn't slipping or anything. Is there any real advantage in the area of making and receiving calls and texts between the two?

You can record the cops better on an iphone, and real time stream it so they cannot steal your phone and delete the incriminating video.
