Maybe a week before Christmas? Half December at the very earliest. I hate the whole premature Christmas thing.

Yep. That's my bellyache about the whole thing too.

I like Christmas, but I wish people would have the decency to limit it to December at least.

Not one but TWO of the local radio stations I have programmed into my car stereo have already switched to Christmas music and a third appears to have started mixing in a lot of Christmas songs. I only have 7 in there total and those are the only ones I like. Since two of them are NPR, that leaves me with 2 music stations with non-Christmas stuff.

Agreed. It's enough as it is, having it up until about mid-Januari. Putting it up in November is madness.

At least having it up until mid January has sound historical precedent. Decorations were always left up to celebrate the festival throughout Twelfth Night, which currently falls on 5th January. Thanks to the change from the Julian calendar that can also be 17th January, and is still celebrated as such in some areas. There is pageantry, history, and theological practice behind it.
