That's neat! (That even people who can't afford to subscribe still get to see the art.)

On the other hand, I can see why if the artist did that some people might not care about subscribing (people that otherwise would, not people that never would because they don't want to or don't have the funds); they might just wait for the art to be made public. (That explains the extras, though!)
