I've started one of those food delivery services where their big selling point is that the majority of their ingredients are sourced from farms across my region. Comes with fairly easy recipes to boot. Easy enough that I'm able to cook all of the meals about two hours and just store 'em in my refrigerator so that during the week I just have to take them out and reheat them.
I've eaten a lot of foods that I wouldn't have bothered trying because I'd have no clue how to prepare them. Out of something like 20 meals, I've only had one dud. That's an amazing rate. Better than some cookbooks.
So, not only am I eating better and healthier, I'm spending less on groceries than I did flailing around a supermarket. Plus, the food tastes better, I feel better (hell, I'm even losing weight despite arguably eating more), and I'm supporting independent farms within a 100-mile radius of where I live.
Oh, and I have a permanent online database of all of the recipes so I can make them on my own if I want.
You won't hear me slagging off on foodies. I mean, yeah, they can be OTT like any fandom, but goddamn what's you get on board with the casual end of things, it really only boils down to some tiny changes in eating habits that result in some pretty big benefits.
(Seriously. I'm still fucking stunned that I'm spending LESS MONEY for better-tasting food.)
