The way I see it, all these kids who think Light was right and shit, are just like him. They're arrogant teens who think that they know what's best. Someone like Light, could never get it right, that's just the way of his age group, no matter how they like to think that they're the one that so smart. They're wrong.
On the other hand, you have these two brothers. They know they're not always right but they can still stand back and say "That was wrong." And so they bring a little justice where it doesn't always show up. It may be a similar situation, but Light can't hold a candle to the Boondock Saints.
