Because I need to share my amazement.

I participated in the Reddit Secret Santa gift exchange. And you usually get some pretty cool stuff. Last year I got 4 Funko Pop toys. My person this year asked me a TON of questions. And then bought my gift for me. It arrived today and I am shocked. He and his wife for me a KITCHENAID STAND MIXER! Like a $300 mixer. Holyyyyyy shit.

I know! I just got it out of the box and it is amazing.

Wow, what a nice gesture! I love hearing thing like this, it restores my faith in humanity somewhat.

It restores mine as well. Like, this is by far the coolest gift I've gotten. And the message was super sweet as well.

A surprise birthday party. No one ever seems to notice my birthday even if I talk about it and bring my own cake to share, so having a surprise party thrown for me (and it really was a complete surprise) was wonderful and I'm still touched by it all these years later..

My SO showed up with a giant flatscreen 1080p TV for me for my birthday one year. It was top of the line back then, as 1080p had just become the highest definition available.

We still own it, and it still works great, but I was not expecting that as a gift.

My mother, who had no ability to relate to people emotionally, bought me a fish after I had to have my dog put to sleep. Best damn surprise gift, ever.

I went off for two weeks to visit my family for Thanksgiving this year, and used a catsitter recommended to me by my landlord to look after my cat. When I got home a few days ago, not only was my cat happy (if a bit clingy, which is normal for her), but the catsitter had tidied up my living room AND left a large basket of goodies on my table. I was stunned, to say the least.

My bf once got us a trip to Budapest. As a gift. It was totally in low season and the hotel was half empty and if was damn cold...but who cares it was aaaaawesome.

I really wanted an American Girl doll when I was a kid. When I got my first job, I started setting aside money to buy Samantha, but she was retired before I could buy her. I was really bummed about it, but tried not to make a big deal out of it because I thought my friends would make fun of me for being seventeen and wanting a doll. On my birthday, my best friend wouldn't let me open my locker until all our friends had arrived. When they all got there, I saw a red box and actually burst into tears. It was a Samantha doll. My friends had pooled together their money to buy me one.

I just recently found out at work that I'm getting an award in recognition of the good work that I'm doing. I didn't expect that!
