I can't read fic based on anything that's live-action filmed (tv or movies) because I get such awful second-hand embarrassment thinking about what if the actors found this stuff. I have no such problem with fanart, though (except manips, those can diaf)

I feel this way about actually writing it and just feel way too awkward about ever creating any (similar case with fanart for the same things), but not about others' fan fiction/art. Usually I just have an automatic "whatever, not like I wrote it" reaction, no matter how weird it gets.

I used to get this when I was younger, so all my ships back then were from cartoons because I felt so weird about shipping characters from live-action stuff. Then one day it changed and I don't get the embarrassment anymore.

Shippy manips are still awful though.

This is how I feel about fandom in general. Video games or anything where the characters are completely fictional? That's my jam. But if it involves characters played by real people? No thank you.
