King Lear secret! <33333333333333333333

I definitely did NOT think much of Lear's parenting either: the way he plays his daughters off each other in the very first scene, his surprise 180 when Cordelia won't play along with his game, not to mention Regan and Goneril talking about how he'd played favorites, always felt like he was at the very least not exactly father-of-the-year material. And a lot of the stuff Goneril says later on, about how he needs not to be carousing with a bunch of his hangers-on at her expense, not to mention hitting her servants... yeah, girlfriend's got a case right there in the text. I am actually a huge Goneril-fan for this reason.
