(Anonymous) 2015-12-05 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)The actual act of shoving ginger up a horse's butt to make it look perky does feature in Discworld books though, IIRC where Moist von Lipwig sells on a cheap horse at a higher price, and Vimes does it to some oxen in Night Watch and says it's a known conman's trick.
