(Anonymous) 2015-12-05 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)I only watched six episodes of KNB before I dropped it, but I don't remember it being as purposely homoerotic as Free! I was disgusted with it, though because I had enjoyed anime like Oofuri and Haikyuu! and appreciated being able to watch a realistic depiction of sports games that incorporated the psychology of the players. KNB was just...stupid. Kuroko has some weird power where people can't see him, and I'm supposed to find that shit ibteresting? i also found both Kuroko and Kagami to be very boring personally-wise.

I'll admit to being a fan of KNB, but I'm no sports fan; sports by themselves bore me.
Even so at first I wasn't sure about KNB because I didn't realize going in that the characters were going to have what basically amounts to superpowers, and there was a time when I considered dropping it because it was all so ridiculous, but in the end I stuck with it and learned to laugh at it. It was a fun series for me once I got over that.
KNB IS crazy, but I think it focuses more on sports than Free! does. KNB is just...not in the least bit realistic.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-05 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)KnB is following the trend of fantastical sports that Prince of Tennis started (and just as PoT, it focuses a lot on the sport in the most unrealistic way), but it's not more homoerotic than the average shounen manga.
