I've tried putting moisturizer on my hands and wearing gloves. I've used the balm from the green jar, I've done the bag balm. Yet every winter, my fingers still split and crack and bleed and *hurt*. I once asked a doctor (not my normal practitioner) for advice. Oh they used bandaids and healing creme on the cuts too. Sigh. Is there any relief besides moving to a warmer climate?

Same issue. I put a ton of A&D ointment on and bandaids overnight/when I can (like at work) and it helps, but nothing helps all the time. The only real relief i ever get is if i get some superglue and glue the splits together. Instantly stops hurting, but then comes apart when i do the dishes.

If you do dishes with a dishwasher, it would probably work better for you. And maybe try A&D or petroleum jelly instead of moisturizer under those gloves - it'll last longer.

Get a balm with real beeswax in it and no water. It actually works it you use it regularly.

Question: do you put it on periodically throughout the day? Or put it on and wear gloves at night?

I've had this happen before, but it's just starting to get colder over here so I haven't had any major problems with my skin yet. (I have eczema though, so no matter the weather I occasionally have problems.)

Uh...other than moisturizing constantly, covering up as much as possible and staying hydrated, I'm not sure what to suggest. (I hope you find something that works for you, though!)

I have this problem on my feet. :( The only thing that helps me is that right after I shower, I put petroleum jelly on my feet, then a thick pair of socks and leave it on all night. It doesn't completely take care of the dryness, but it helps prevent the cracking/bleeding.

I hate to tell you warm weather won't necessarily fix it, I live in SoCal and my knuckles have all but exploded this winter
