Isn't that the extreme libertarian, Ayn Rand worshipping, weirdo fandom with the torture porn in it?

The book series very much is (though I personally enjoyed the first 4 books that had a lot less of the Ayn Rand crap). But the tv show took out most of the creepy philosophy. The torture porn is still there, though muted down.
