That's tough, I'm sorry. It's not uncommon for older people to be stubborn about hearing loss (or loss of eyesight, for that matter) because they don't want to believe it's a problem. It's a shame she's missing out on so much.

Is there a chance a family member could go with her to her doctor and see if the doctor could convince her to try them again? Sometimes an outside authority holds more weight than family.
