Yeah, MakoHaru shippers called Rin abusive and RinHaru shippers called Makoto manipulative. Some outliers had some nasty things to say about Sousuke as well.

It's truly tragic how people try to demonize teenage boys who aren't even portrayed to be bad people in canon. How people can take such an innocent show as Free! and turn it into this cycle of abuse is beyond me.
