Dessert thread

Re: Dessert thread
I'm with you on chocolate sparingly. I'm more likely to eat it when I'm in a bad mood. I eat it more for the positive affects than anything else. But fruit desserts are the best.

Re: Dessert thread
I like mint chocolate chip cookies right now and I've made a really good rum cake.
Re: Dessert thread
There's a local chain of bakeries which does an absolutely amazing chocolate cake. It's basically just 4 layers of different types of chocolate - first there's chocolate fudge on the top, then a layer of chocolate mousse, then normal chocolate sponge cake, and the bottom most layer is milk chocolate with crushed biscuits.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-06 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)Non-apple fruit pies that are not gelatenous. I hate going to places that are "famous for our pie!" and getting a slice of berry pie that is like eating jello in a crust.
Things that are rich and interesting-tasting, which usually also means things that are small (although usually very dense). I actually tend to avoid things like big slices of chocolate cake (unless I'm at a party or it's the only option) for fear of blandness.

I'd like to try all the cheesecake, but alas...I don't need it. :(
I reblog some dessert stuff on my tumblr and always want to try the recipes and never do. Mostly I stare at it wistfully, tell myself I'm going to buy ingredients then forget.
So these days the closest thing I have to dessert is when I make french toast for breakfast. (I bought some imitation pumpkin spice extract and have been using that with vanilla and ground cinnamon.)
Re: Dessert thread
Pie. Pie is also good.
Mousse. So hard to get a good mousse.
Chocolate chip cookies.
Donuts - also good.
IDK man. So many good things.

Re: Dessert thread
I am an enigma within a paradox lol.
But really, it just means I like to make my own desserts with about half the sugar the recipe calls for.

This is a Drumstick:

We currently have a pile of them in the freezer because we got our yearly hampers only a few days ago.
