The only people who celebrate it are North American Christians. Therefore, it is a Christian holiday.

Sounds like it is a United Statsian Holiday there, mate.

Yes. A Christian United Statsian holiday.

You can deny all you want that the US is a country founded by Christians, run based on Christian values, and has always had a Christian-dominated culture. Your denial has no effect on reality.

I thought it was founded by a loose coalition of tribal peoples who wandered over the icebridge from Asia and supplemented by a few lost vikings.

That's pre-colonial America you're thinking of, which was made up of many different cultures and was not a single united nation the way it is now (hence United States).

In the context of this discussion, "the US" is obviously referring to post-colonial America.

Stop being obtuse. If you don't have an actual rebuttal, then GTFO.

Wow, I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't on Facebook!

Look, I get that you're offended by the existence of people who aren't Christian and don't want to celebrate your precious Thanksgiving, but you need to get over it.

Okay, now I know you're trolling.

I give up.

...Dude I'm PAGAN and I celebrate it.

Let me guess, you either converted to a pagan religion after being raised Christian, or one/both of your parents did.

Nope. Family's atheist for a few generations now.

ummm. we do have thanksgiving in Europe. Only about a month earlier, because it's traditionally held when the main harvest is done and we thank god (or in older times, any of the gods wherever you lived) for what they've given us.
The way it's celebrated is different, sure, but then have a look at how different american christmas is from the many european ways to celebrate christmas. you'd have to claim that's not a christian holiday, either. I mean, where did this bastardized version of St. Nicolas/Odin/Whatever even come from? what's with the reindeers? Stockings? Huh? When I was little we only had the "Christkind" which is supposed to be baby jesus but in practice is imagined as a form of st. Lucy, an angelic female creature with blond hair and a crown of stars.

lots of non-Xtians celebrate it too, including me.
