(Anonymous) 2015-12-07 01:38 am (UTC)(link)Well, my non-Christian immigrant co-workers do tend to dispense with the turkey, and just go with a meal they prefer, but in Canada I do tend to think that Thanksgiving is mostly just a long weekend with a more elaborate than usual family meal (traditionally turkey).
And yes, it could totally be a regional thing. I'm on the prairies, so there are quite a few fall suppers to begin with. I have no idea if that's the case elsewhere.
