Some people just don't care about kids, even if they are part of the same community. God forbid some people not give a shit about the kids.

And you act like every church is the same. Those megachurches are nothing like small churches and so not everyone knows the other attendees. We know nothing about the kind of church the OP goes to and I don't get why people get so up in arms because some church members don't care about kids they probably don't even know or interact with. That's like expecting everyone in a small town where everyone knows everyone to give a shit about the high school football team.

Look, I don't have kids and I'm not terribly excited at the prospect of childrens pageants either, but this is what you sign up for when you join a church. No, not all churches are exactly alike, but guess what? Nearly all of them have and want families with kids, they have programs for children and they absolutely want to include kids in their worship. BECAUSE THAT'S HOW CHURCHES MAINTAIN AND EXPAND THEIR MEMBERSHIP. There is no mainstream Christian church that doesn't want to be family-friendly.

It's totally fine to not care about kids. But joining a church and then expecting it to keep all their kid-related stuff to one side so it doesn't touch your life at all is like going to the grocery store and getting upset that there's a produce section.

Seriously, if this person wants to be in a church without kids, they can become Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox and become a monk or nun.

But I'm sure it wouldn't have killed the people running the church to print in the bulletin that they were having a pageant instead of service that day so OP could have stayed home that day.

lol I know how churches work, that's why Sunday School exists, and it still amazes me how butthurt people get at people complaining about kids in any capacity. Like, dude, you are so angry right now and so upset on behalf of people who don't know about OP's bitching. The kids are totally fine and probably don't even give a shit.

And your analogy sucks, people expect to endure the produce section at the grocery store, they don't expect having to pretend to care about some dumb kid's pageant.
