Ask yourself first though: Is it really a story about A/B/C do you just hope some readers might want to read it that way? Ask yourself that honestly.

Yeah, that's what I mean. If if has definite evidence of ~feelings~ or whatever, it should probably be tagged. If it's subtext that most everyone will miss, then not so much.

Sounds like anything apart from A is just bonus material for a reader with the right frame of mind. I'd leave it off the tags entirely.

Yeah, I mean, aside from the people who want minimalist tags (who honestly sound like they wouldn't be into the fic, anyway?) being thorough tends to work in a writer's favor on ao3. Someone is going to be looking for exactly what you've got. Why not make it easy for them to find it?
