Anyone else prone to ear infections in the winter? Or wanna rant about how else your body is rebelling against you right now?

I am prone to super dry skin on my face/head. So I gotta use dandruff shampoo, this medicated face shampoo, AND scrub my eyelids. And they cause me to get chalazions sometimes. All that is bad, and it gets like 3x worse in winter. So this is me these days.

Sometimes I get the impression that facial skin exists for the sole purpose of reacting badly to the external environment. It's cold? Here's some redness and peeling. It's hot? Here's even more redness and painful zits. It's unusally windy? God save your soul.

Both are how I feel all the time.

It's true. Why is facial skin so fussy??

Not to change the subject because excessive skin dryness sucks balls, but where is that scene from? I swear I know it from somewhere.

Have you been checked for deficiencies? B12 and vitamin D deficiencies can both cause skin problems. Ditto if you have a diet lacking in essential amino acids.

My hands are ridiculously dry because of the climate, and my period is a week late now and I'm pissed off.

My body decided that I A) had to get my period the week I have exams almost every day and B) that I should have the worst period cramps ever this week. Bonus point C) that pain killers super rarely work for me. Yaaaay.

I'm just lucky it is a 3 day home exam for the most part, but I still spent most of this day sleeping due to it and I lost a day of studying yesterday for the one exam I have on Wednesday that is not at home due to being in so much pain that I didn't even manage to sit up. Blah.

Yup, just coming out off a bout with diplacusis too. On the one hand, it's kind of cool when you pick up the phone and everyone sounds like a robot, but on the other, it messes with you when you're trying to learn a new instrument.

Anytime now stupid period. It's been nearly 34 days, I counted this time. Who the fuck has a +34 days cycle, you scumbag hormonal regulatory system?

happened to me too this month.

I get ear infections in the winter too and only when it's really cold. I guess I know how cold a winter's gonna be depending on how bad my ear infection is. I also have small ear canals and really dark orange, sticky earwax. It's such a pain in the butt to ask my boyfriend to help me flush out my ears. I swear, my ears hate me.

Some people are prone to ear infections from childhood. My uncle, for instance. But I never used to get them. Now I've started having them, and there's a 50-50 chance the average winter URI is gonna travel to my ears. WHYYYYYYYY. This didn't happen until I was in my 20s.

As for right now, it's just dry as hell here and I've been having allergies to all the crap in the air. Blech. I have mummy hands, and everything you touch gives static shocks. You know it's Santa Ana season when you go to wash your hands and the water coming out of your pipes gives you static electricity. Not to mention the poor cats!

Itchy. My arms and legs are fucking itchy. Every fucking winter for the last three years. I have to use Cetaphil and a 24 hour allergy pill every fucking day so I can be somewhat comfortable.

I am prone to my lungs fucking up really.

I'm glad to be over this dumb cold I have, but my trachea is...itchy? For the past few days I've been coughing just because it tickles and I can't sing without aggravating it. Throat's not sore, I feel fine, no symptoms, etc. but it's like this one little part of my respiratory tract is hyper-sensitive now and won't get used to the fact that the cold is gone. :|

Never been prone to ear infections, but winter is murder on the sinuses.

Tried to clean the spare room the other day and was rudely reminded that I am allergic to dust mites. It's usually not an issue but I guess stirring up the dust when I was going through things made everything airborne.

Psoriasis on my eyelids because heating during winter and aircon during summer and they won't turn the one near me off. It's a perpetual battle and so sore and red
