Kinda miss sex, but other than that I'm good where I am.

I want a platonic life partnership and am perpetually doubtful as to whether anyone I love would want that with me. IDK how one gets there. But I guess I'll just have to live my life and find out.

According to people I know who do this, you just kinda... be best friends with someone until you both decide you're too fed up/disillusioned/want to concentrate on career to bother with romance anymore and just decide to be live-in life partners for the rest of time.

Either that or you have two people whose sexual interests are incompatible but who fall in love with each other anyway and thus a sexless marriage is born.

Don't be too discouraged! This is definitely a thing that happens, and it probably happens more often than people are willing to talk about considering the emphasis that gets placed on sex in relationships.

At this point I'll just settle for somebody who isn't abusive.

1. Best sex I've ever had. I honestly used to think it just didn't matter as much to me as other people but I just didn't know better.

I have no idea what the endgame with this is but I'm feeling really damn good about it.

DING! Same here. I honestly thought for a while I might be ace (after previous years of high sexuality, before the relationship my sex drive failed in), but it turns out that I just hadn't found a relationship in 1) I felt safe and comfortable and 2) I was sexually compatible with.

And the honestly nice person thing is amazing. I was surprised at how much of a difference it made - and it made A LOT.

That seems to be a pretty common thing. Ace is def a legit sexual orientation, but I've been seeing more and more stories of people who identified as ace only to discover later that they do feel sexual attraction; they're just not attracted to douchebags.

Seriously.

There are a shitload of factors that can affect one's ability to feel attraction to people. Feeling pressured to be in a relationship because all their friends are dating or married while being surrounded by douchebags whom they wouldn't fuck if it was their last night on earth can mess with a person's sexuality and how they identify way more than people think.

Like Anne Shirley, I've always longed for a bosom friend--less like Anne and Diana than Emily and Ilse, though, because that seemed like a more equal friendship.

And I really, really want a house I can love.

I look for a lot of things...

I like the relationship I'm in now, though I'm not sure whether I see it being long-term. I still miss the one really serious relationship I have, and part of me is doubtful I'll find that again with someone else...but who can say? I've only been with this guy for...a month? ish? so we'll see what happens I guess.

What do I want in a relationship??

I would like to be with someone I respect and like spending time with, and who likes me, is interested in me, and genuinely enjoys spending time with. I mean, when you get right down to it. Like, there are other things that I would like - for instance I think a lot about the idea of empathy and mutual caring and mutual emotional labor and I think those are beautiful ideas, or someone who challenges me intellectually, or all those kinds of things - but frankly i think right now "person who likes spending time with me" is a sufficient goal.

Someone with a spaceship.

The relationship I'm in right now is the best one I have ever been in.

Regular maintenance spankings. Been a fantasy for many years, am now living the dream.
